Friday 5 June 2020 – cumulus developing to towering cumulus during the day
Herne Bay, about 0830. After a speill of hot settled weather June is beginning with some unseasonably cool blustery winds with showers. Here fields of cumulus build with altocumulus visibily above between the breaks in the lower level cloud.
These atmospherically unstable conditions always provide a good theatre of cloud play.
Later towering cumulus develops with shower and blustery cool winds.

Thursday 4 June 2020 – low stratus, strato cumulus with towering cumulus in the distance
Herne Bay, about 0830, overcast with a fresh breeze from the North. Cool. Frontal weather returns to the North Sea after a sunny spell. Here low stratus scuds past just above, a shower is out at sea with some brighter patches and a hint of deeper convective cloud development. Perhaps this is a cold front clearance in progress.

Wednesday 3 June 2020 – Altostratus and cirrostratus
Herne Bay about 0830. Calm and tranquil, overcast but mild. There is a fairly dense canopy consisting of sheets of medium and upper level cloud; altostratus and cirrostratus. The sun is struggling to make it’s presence known. Some lower strato cumulus shows moisture and activity at a lower level.

Sunday 24 May 20 – Stratocumulus and Cumulus
Cloudy, light breeze, warm.
Saturday 23 May 20, Chislet – Cumulonimbus with Mammata

Saturday 23 May 20 cumulus with sunburst corona
Herne Bay. Morning. Warm, partly cloudy with good amounts of sunshine.

Sunday 19 May 20 – Cirrus
Herne Bay, near sunset, calm and mild. Mulitple layers of clouds lit up in different ways. Cirrostratus and a bright contrail above. Shaddowed stratocumulus below.
Monday 18 May 20 – Cirrocumulus
Herne Bay, about 8 in the morning, mild weather with light winds. Significant amounts of high cloud, cirrostratus and also more granular cirrocumulus. Featured image is a an overhead zoomed in study.
Saturday 16 May 20 – Stratocumulus
Herne Bay. Warmish with light and variable winds. The crystal clear visibility remains. (Have we just got cleaner air because of lock down?) A thin and broken stratocumulus layer alows sunlight to break through.
The day started with a thicker low cloud.
